Greg Grabski and Tim Robinson explore how to improve the visual performance of touchscreen displays Displays_in their technical report _Enhancing the Visual Performance of Touch Screen, published in July 2013.
Touchscreen displays with human-machine interface for cockpit applications
Properly designed Touchscreens bring an unprecedented level of intuitive human-computer interaction to the management of aircraft information. Factors such as the visual appearance of the display under strong sunlight, the prevention of accidental activation and ways to avoid fingerprints are all influenced by the touchscreen design and integration with Aktiv-matrix Displays (= AMLCD, short for active matrix liquid crystal display). The report, published by Grabski and Robinson, describes a touchscreen display equipped with HMI (Human-Machine-Interface) capabilities that are particularly useful in cockpit applications.
