At the end of March 2015, the Rochester, NY-based company Carestream Advanced Materials announced its partnership with the Taiwanese touchscreen manufacturer CNTouch. Together with CNTouch, the aim is to develop touchscreen applications that contain film sensors and modules with single and multiple layers of transparent, conductive films.
The so-called R&D program will be released sequentially with the Carestream Roadmap, which is responsible for the innovative Silvernanowire (AgNW) based FLEXX film product line.
Promising partnership
CNTouch is a manufacturer of carbon nanotube products (CNT = carbon nanotubes), which are used in touch applications, sensors, cables and LED lighting. Under the terms of the agreement between the two companies, CNTouch will be responsible for the design, development, fabrication and application testing.
Carestream has the commercialization rights for some or all of the applications developed within the program. Both share the right of single-layer multi-touch designs (SLMT).
