Environmental simulation tests for vibrations
Vibrations can occur during the transport of the touchscreen as well as in numerous applications such as printing presses, electronic control units in vehicles or marine engine control during normal operation. Portable devices such as handhelds are also exposed to shocks and vibrations during normal use.
The nature of the vibrations and oscillations depends on the polluter. For example, the type of vibrations that occur during transport with a truck, an airplane or a ship is different from vibrations caused by a printing press or in a vehicle wash.
Environmental simulation tests for vibration in touch screens are possible for:
- Sinusoidal oscillations
- Noise-like oscillations
- Sine-on-random oscillations
The loads caused by vibrations are measured and provide information about the load capacity, service life and functional reliability of the respective touchscreen.
Vibration test according to DIN standard
Vibration tests can be carried out on touch screens and touch panels in accordance with the following standards:
- DIN EN 61373
- DIN EN 2591-403
- MIL-STD 810 G
- DIN EN 60721-3-2
- RTCA DO 160 E
- DIN EN 60068-2-64
- DIN EN 60068-2-6
- DIN EN 60068-2-29
