Anti-reflective coating (AR Coating)
With a chemical etching process, a special coating or a special spray coating, the incident light can be refracted and dispersed, resulting in a so-called "anti-glare" effect. This form of surface treatment is also known as anti-reflective coating or AR coating.
However, this form of anti-glare has the disadvantage that the brightness of the screen is also affected. It therefore does not always make sense to necessarily want to achieve the highest degree of glare protection.
Depending on the area of application, we weigh up the advantages and disadvantages carefully in order to find the right finish for you.
Premium anti-glare protection for marine or military applications
For critical or premium applications, we use a circular polarizer that provides perfect sunlight readability.
Simply put, it is through this filter that the light is "straightened". On one side, the linearly polarized component is absorbed and the circularly polarized one is transmitted, and vice versa.
With this circular polarizing filter, we achieve unbeatable results in the field of sunlight readability. This, somewhat more complex method can be mandatory for special applications such as ship control or in the military environment.
UV filter against fading optics
In general, it is not advisable to use a touchscreen with a polyester surface for outdoor use, because UVA and UVB radiation affect the PET material very quickly.
Microglass surfaces with which our ULTRA GFG and PCAP touchscreens are equipped offer very reliable protection against UV radiation from the ground up.
However, touch applications that are constantly exposed to sunlight should be equipped with an additional UV filter in order to avoid long-term impairment of the optics.
Infrared filter as thermal protection
Built-in glare protection and UV filters in your GFG or PCAP touchscreen guarantee consistently good optical properties with regular sunlight.
However, strong sunlight can cause even more fundamental complications in touchscreens in addition to optical problems. This is because the infrared radiation leads to heat development inside the device, which in the worst case can cause the touchscreen to fail.
In order to protect the technology of exposed applications, especially in more southern regions, Interelectronix uses special infrared filters, also called color filters, which are attached to the glass surface of the touchscreen in foil form.
This film reflects back the infrared radiation and thus protects the touchscreen from excessive internal temperatures.
Customer-specific selection of optimal glare protection
Interelectronix attaches great importance to developing customer-specific products that are optimally adapted to the area of application of the touchscreen.
Each application has special optical requirements, which we solve for you.
We offer a wide range of technologies, product options and finishes in different price ranges to optimally adapt your touchscreen to the respective environment.
