In the field of projected capacitive touchscreens, users have become accustomed to the state-of-the-art design of smartphones and tablets. As a matter of course, one expects operation by means of permanently marked menu items or predefined touch points.

Even in industrial applications where machines are controlled via a few predefined standard functions, it is becoming increasingly common to find operation by means of marked touch points.

Interelectronix offers the possibilities of predefined menu items for both capacitive technologies and resistive GFG glass-foil-glass touchscreens.

The glass surfaces offered by Interelectronix are predestined for backprinting and the associated determination of defined touch points.

Using digital printing or a high-quality screen printing process, any color or shape can be printed on the film or glass. The color and shape shines outwards through the microglass and, in combination with a software definition of the relevant touch point, serves as a predefined menu item.

Because the ink is printed from the back onto the glass, it is not exposed to external influences and is therefore more durable.
