The GFG ULTRA touch technology is based on a glass film glass construction. This form of resistive touchscreen is also based on ITO (indium tin oxide) coated glass with burned-in conductor tracks, over which the so-called spacer dots are applied. On a double-sided glued gasket there is an ITO-coated foil on which the external borosilicate glass is fixed with a liquid, transparent adhesive. Due to its high boron content, this is extremely resistant to chemicals and temperatures and, in contrast to the polyester surfaces of conventional resistive systems, also brings with it an increased degree of robustness and scratch resistance. Accordingly, the GFG ULTRA touchscreens are suitable for unattended kiosk applications, such as ticket terminals and other ticket vending machines, but also for construction machinery, for example in crane control systems, which must function absolutely reliably in very dusty and dirty environments. GFG systems are also successfully used in particularly harsh industrial environments. The high chemical resistance of the outer micro-glass layer is of great importance, especially in medical and chemical environments.
At the same time, all the advantages of a resistive touchscreen are fully retained: These include operation with finger, pen and even thick work gloves with the usual high reliability as well as easy integration even in EMC-critical areas of application.
