Touchscreen technology for explosion protection

Interelectronix manufactures reliable Impactinator® touch screens that can be used in areas where an explosive atmosphere is present or can be expected. They help to make workflows more efficient and ensure smooth data exchange.

Applications for industry and hazardous areas Zone 1/2 (gas) and 21/22 (dust):

  • Zone 1: an area in which an explosive atmosphere consisting of a mixture of air with flammable substances in the form of gas, vapour or mist is likely to occur occasionally during normal operation.

  • Zone 2: an area in which an explosive atmosphere consisting of a mixture of air with flammable substances in the form of gas, vapour or mist is not expected to occur during normal operation, and if so, then rarely and only for a short time.

  • Zone 21: an area where explosive atmospheres in the form of a cloud of combustible dust in air are likely to occur occasionally during normal operation.

  • Zone 22: An area in which an explosive atmosphere in the form of a cloud of combustible dust is not expected to appear in air during normal operation, but if it does occur, it is only temporarily.

Increased service life, as well as impact and scratch resistant surface

The Impactinator® touch screen offers an increased lifespan largely resulting from the high wear and impact resistance of the Impactinator® surface. This robust glass surface of the Impactinator® screen guarantees the reliability of the touchscreen, as it is scratch-resistant, impact-resistant, temperature-insensitive and even resistant to moisture and chemicals.

Heat-resistant and reliable

The patented Impactinator® glass technology is particularly suitable for an extended temperature range, which has already been tested in the standard version for the temperature ranges from 70 to -30 degrees Celsius. At the customer's request, the temperature range can be extended by various filters. Interelectronix will be happy to advise you on this.
